I adored this chilling, twisty mystery by JP Pomare - the set up, the house, the class divides, and the genuine doubt. Plus the skilful sprinkling of red herrings - how is it possible to have so many characters that have the same initials?? But what was really masterful was the tension wrought into *that* dinner party scene, that gave rise to the possible motive for this horrible crime. There’s a theory that anybody can be a murderer and be driven to kill, given the right circumstances. I have to say, those particular circumstances made my blood boil - and I’m only a reader! And that admission of guilt that made you doubt everything you’ve read so far in this quest to free a wronged man…. I was fairly shouting at the pages by that point. Well-played, JP Pomare.
